Please allow me to try and express myself in plain words aswell...I am a little disappointed by your ridiculing reply to my sincere efforts to try and find a suitable solution to this.
You are at liberty to take any aircraft and fly where ever you like, why do you have to take this one? Because you can? There are plenty of DH87 in OZ compared to here, why don’t you make a deal on any of those?
Hornet Moth SE-AGE is clearly not the most suitable aircraft for your intended journey. Obviously you have not understood that this very aircraft is the only specimen remaining here, it has no significant history to others than the to us, locally. This is not a recreational vehicle that you pop in and make a hop around the globe for the benefit of your satisfying your own urges which ever they may be. To us this aircraft is very important, a fact that the seller did not realise when he offered it to you.
With your experience one would expect a little more respect and understanding of the circumstances. I have not implied, and do not represent anybody but myself in this matter. Regarding your doubt about my Altruism, my only concern is to try and help in saving and keep the increasingly scarce population of vintage aircraft in Sweden for the future. I don’t see why you have any reason to doubt that?
To me managing and caring about these aircraft is very important and should be to you as well. The sale was obviously a very big mistake from many points of view (not my words, not gossip)....However, the matters that I address in my email are pure facts and I suggest that you seriously try and find out and consider the facts and options for yourself.
Thanks for the nice pictures of your Fw44. Lovely to see that you have applied Swedish Air Force-colour scheme of the 1930s. But, compared to the Hornet Moth; Stieglitz SE-BEW/VH-FBU, was imported to Sweden from Finland in the 1990s, so this individual aircraft has no historical connection as such to our country - the Hornet Moth SE-AGE was imported new to Sweden in 1937! Please understand the difference between the deal that landed you with the Fw44 Steiglitz and deal regarding the Hornet Moth...and the feelings that the later will upset...
